Activity of the combined pyrimethamine and sulphadoxine as antifilarial in Brugia pahangi-Aedes togai model infection

The mortality rates od Aedes togai mosquito either uninfected or infected with Brugia pahangi maintained in insectary for 12 days with various concentrations of the combined pyrimethamine (P) and sulphadoxine (S) in 10% sugar-water solution: 5 mg% P+100mg%, 10mg%P+200mg%S, and 20%P+400mg%S significantly increased compared cto that of the control groups. The present evidence showed a deginite insecticidal action of the combined drugs. Infection and infective rates of Ae. togoi mosquitos, average number of B. pahangi larve and infective larvae per infected mosquitores, average size and movement of the larvae in the groups of mosquitoes treated with various concentrations of the combined drugs for 12 days decreased significantly compared to that of the control groups of mosquitoes. The present evidence demonstrated a deginite action of the combined pyrimethamine and sulphadoxine as an antifilarial in B. pahangi-Ae togai model infection.Keywords:pyrimethamin-sulphadoxine-Brugiapahang-Aedes togai-antifilarial-insecticide. The histopathological diagnosis of non-Hodgkin lymphoma as to be confirmed with the management of the patient

Rappaport non-Hodgkin lymphoma classification is well known, by pathologists and clinicians. This classification is based on the morphology of tumor cells. Lukes and Collins classification, and also Lennert classification are new non-Hodgkin lymphoma classifications. These clasification are based on morphology , basic function of tumor cells and the clinical application. However, there are some differences between Rappaport classification, Lukes and Collins classification and Lennert classification. To compromise the differences of the classifications, there is working classification of non-Hodgkin lymphoma which is used for clinical diagnosis. It is important to disecuss then non-Hodgkin lymphoma classifications becaused each classification has its own basis. The basic classification of non-Hodgkin lymphoma is useful for specialists based on their specialtries; Lennert classification and Lukes and Collins classification are the applicable classification of non-Hidgkin lymphoma for pathologists and clinicians, while Rappaport classification is more useful for pathologists. The electroencephalography of chronically headache patients in Sardjito General Hospital Yogyakarta

One hundred seventy four cases of 9-63 year old patients with chronical headache were reported. One hundred and twelve cases (64.37%) were examined by electroencephalography from April 1, 1986 to March 31, 1987. The EEG of 51 (29.31%) patients were normal, 44 (25.29%) with irratation pattern and 17 (9.77%) with hypofunction. It is suggested that the irratation pattern in chronical headache needed more attention in order to know the etimology and the location in intracranial lesion. Key words: chronical headache-electroencephalography- irritation pattern-intracranial lesion- show wave focus. Sri Sutarni, Pernodjo Dahlan & Sri Witono
